Ms. Rekas Recognized by FCPS!
May's FCPS Cares Region 1 Recipient
Congratulations to Amy Rekas on being recognized as the May FCPS Cares Recipient of the Month for Region 1 by the Department of Human Resources. Congratulations, Ms. Rekas!

Last night my daughter said that she wished she could have Ms. Rekas as her teacher forever! Her dad and I feel the same. We love seeing all the things she’s learning in Ms. Rekas's class and hearing about all the fun she’s having. The other night my daughter had a bit of a panic attack when she got shampoo in her eyes for the first time. I was telling her to take a deep breath, and she stuck her hand in the air and followed five deep breaths on her fingers. She said that Ms. Rekas taught her that. It's hard to believe that Ms. Rekas can keep up with the county's loaded pacing guides and still have time to show her students mental health tricks! Also, when I run into Ms. Rekas at school events, she often will tell me something specific that my daughter said or did in class. I appreciate that. It makes me feel like she is really paying attention to my child!
