READING RESOURCES

This resources below includes a wide variety of books/ways to access them to appeal to the interests and reading levels of many students, recommended by current 7th grade English and other staff members.

Parents are encouraged to review book selections with their children in order to help them make appropriate age/level choices.

Students should aim to read at least one book a month (June, July, and August) and select interesting/ challenging books of different genres they have not read before.

Specific book suggestions can be found in reading lists developed by the FCPS Middle School Language Arts “What to Read Next” website (middle school books grades 6 and up are in gray), Fairfax County Public Library Summer Reading program (read 5 books from June 12- August 14 to win prizes, attend special events, and enter contests), and Virginia Readers’ Choice. There are many other reading resources posted to the TMS Library website, too. You can ask your friends and family for recommendations as well. Happy reading! 🙂
